Or did he send it out to Kodak or a lab? If a lab, does anyone know which one he used?
I remember him writing somewhere that if you were going to work in color, then you should process your own film and in a letter to his future wife Virginia Best dated September, 1921 he states that he "...purchased a box of Autochromes, a color filter, necessary chemicals, and a pamphlet of directions,..." Moreover, in a letter to Alfred Stieglitz dated November 12, 1937, he states: "...incidentally, i have some color pictures of the Autumn Coloring in Colorado that makes me feel that Color photography has possibilities for me..."
So what do you think? Did he follow his own admonition and self process his color or did he send it out? And if he sent it out, to whom did he send it? Anyone know?
