Few sales of 48cm Nicola Perscheid lenses in the past few years and they went from a few hundred to 3k. There are 3-4 listings of them on ebay for some time asking 4-5K. This particular seller in HK mostly deals in small format cameras/lenses and the lens was listed as $3,800 and went unsold before this sale.

This is a good deal and somebody beat me.

Actually "Dutch/French" is not a completely misleading name for Belgium!

Try Flemish/Walloon ;-)

But yes, the Gent "elite" spoke "French" in the days this lens was manufactured at OIP ... aiding to the confusion of what is spoken where in Belgium ... I went to senior high in Gent and even then some students were mostly French speaking at home

I believe the original modified aplanat is the desirable version and I've seen significant price differences in the past ... this is most likely why this lens (clearly triplet) didn't sell at $3800+ BIN first time around ...

Yup. Big difference in price.....and image. And i gotta 480 original.......non triplet...
