Another less common lens.
T, T & H Cooke series IIA F3.5 ( "Portric"). £472 (including auction fees). SAS auction UK. The winner was very eager, so I gave up at 380!
This is either a 12" or 12.5" (probably) being listed as 12.?. The early "turn the barrel" version.
Described as spotty brass but OK glass.
This was the only pictorial lens this time.
There is already a list of acheived hammer prices on the SAS website and includes a number of other interesting (non-soft) brass ( large Euryskop series II, huge Ross Universal 30" back focus, Dallmeyer 5A WA meniscus).
Not a lens, but the leather case for Cooke 14-1/2 Series II Portrait SF. I have one of those.
A bargain I 'won'. Very nice condition.

Some sharp guy talked the seller to change his ebay listing to Buy it Now and ended with a Dallmeyer 4A for $950 yesterday morning. . Unbelievable!
J.h dallmeyer portrait patent 4b - $3,568.89 - 131336338657
Lots of Dallmeyers this period. But there are lots for sale during all periods. I'd like to see a tally of how many Dallmeyer petzvals sell each year. I see 2-4 sell each month, most on Ebay, a few on other sites or locally. If that's consistent, that would be up to almost 50 sold a year! The lenses I seek out are much more rare, and sometimes I only see one every year or three. Anyway, they're all good.
