Last Saturday, magnifying glass 13 inch focal length meniscus on 8x10 Deardorff, black hat shutter, f4 aperture with the lens board's Copal 3 hole. 13 inches/333mm is -3 diopter?

Stuck one element from a movie projector lens onto a lens board and happy with the results!

Both David's. Very nice! Like granny's hair in the picture offset by the white hair on the cat other end. Aimone, was the movie projector one of the old petzval types and you used the front doublet?

Not sure if these qualify, but as there are some magnifying glass images, here are a couple from a $1 7" lens a while back:

    ""Miscl. Meniscii ""

Can anybody tell me please: what does "Miscl." mean?
Meniscus plural is clear to me.

    Thanks,
    Ritchie

Jim, I have learned so much about crazy and not crazy lenses from you; thanks for this, and thanks for the translation of miscl, too.

I <think> it was a front element from a brass Super Snaplite Kollmorgen Optical projector lens.

That's basically what my Secret Weapon lens on my pages was. Is. I still have it. So many lenses, so little time.
