Scitex Pro II scanner not recongized

I finally got around to setting up my Scitex Pro II with the original Firewire
    setup.

It's hooked up to PowerPC G5 Quad Core 2.5mhz and running OS 10.4.11 Tiger. I
do not have the original software disc for this scanner and was forced to use
whatever was supplied to me by the original owner's technician.

Whatever software they was a direct copy onto my portable drive and I use the
    INSTALL from it.

The message that I'm receiving is that the "Scanner is not a Creo brand name"

What do I need to get around this issue? Does it require CD to install, or am I
beyond that because the scanner is NOT recognized as being a Creo product?

    Thanks in advance,

    Evan

You may get an answer at the Scan Hi-End group on Yahoo.

According to its description, "this group is the leading peer-to-peer resource for users of High End transparency and reflective scanners, including PMT Drum Scanners and pro-quality CCD scanners, such as those made by Howtek, ICG, Heidelberg, Imacon, or Polaroid, that are capable of scanning formats larger than 35mm. Users of pro quality flatbeds are also invited to participate. Apart from hardware, the group deals with issues such as color management, software, and workflow. "

    Ken,

Thanks for the tip. I did leave a message asking for help.

Does anyone here has a Pro II and are you running onVer 2.3.5 software? If anyone has this software for the Pro II, can you please let me if can burn me a copy of the original CD for me? I will pay for it.

    Thanks in advance.

Evan, according to the oXYgen compatibility chart, you need version 2.3.5.1 for OSX 10.4.x I have 2.6.1 for the iQSmart2, which you can't use.

    Xavier,

I thank you in advance. I will let you know in a couple of days. Allow me to attempt to extract the software off the computer ad see if it will allow my scanner to be "seen" .

    I will keep you posted.

If you scan slide film - the DT format (16 bit RAW from CCD) is the way to go.
For scanning in DT - *any* version of oXYgen capable of communicating with the scanner will do the job equally good.
