SSSXL110 or SW115; Which lens has a wider luminance circle?

    Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any input in this subject.
    1) Which company is more conservative in Image Circle designation/calculation ? Schneider or Rodenstock ?
OR it does not always applied the same ?
    2) Would like to know which lens will illuminate 8X10 better ?
    Schneider Super-Symmar XL 5.6/110mm OR,
    Rodenstock Grandagon/Sinaron-W 6.8/115mm ?
I know both could not cover 8X10. Both has IC less than 312mm.
Manufacturer Specifications of lenses are 288mm and 291mm respectively.
So, The same question can be constructed in more specific way:
    3) Which lens has a wider luminance circle ?
    Thanks too much.

    Hello,

All I really know is that my 115mm Granny covers 810 but with no change. I've seen shots on 810 made with the 110mm and they covered but they could have been cropped

Numerically the Rodenstock by 3 mm.

You'd be wise to test both lenses. The widest I shoot with is a Nikkor 120 mm on 8x10.
When I grow up, I want to be a photographer.

    That's great Steve. Thanks.
    One confirmed information.
Of course you mean 115mm can illuminate 8X10 with no movement.
The good thing in this lens is being more affordable alternative to the SSS 110 XL while it covers better.
    Thanks again Steve.
Hope others could find interest in this topic.

    Thanks Walter,
The reason why I'm asking in LF forum is the possibility to find someone who had tested both lenses side by side.
I do not recall where in this forum I read that the SSSXL110 can illuminate the whole 8X10 @ f/26.
Also, could not recall where did I see an 8X10 photo taken by Sinaron-W 6.8/115mm with non-objectionable vignetting.
    Agree on Nikkor SW 8/120.
    Thanks so much Walter.

I have the Schneider 110 and last week used it with a Wehman camera. It covers the 8x10 fully with no vignetting. I used a tiny , may be 10mm shift, because it is all the bellows allow and it worked fine.
I have no experience with the Rodenstock.

I found over the years that whatever the official numbers are ,as far as coverage, do not mean much and you have to try it yourself to see if does what you need.

    Good luck Luis

    Thanks so much Luis.
May I know what was the aperture ?
Center filter used or not ?
    Appreciate your input.
