Wonderful tonalities and great composition. Very well done. My only modest suggestion would be to tighten the right and lower section tighter to the subject even if it meant adding a bit to the left of the subject. I feel that would refine it nicely and keep the viewing eye from wandering off unnecessarily.
Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately to get the angle I wanted on the subject, it meant significant changes to the composition would have introduced other distractions. Given that limitation, I wanted the other fallen gravestone to anchor the top right corner and to counterpoint the main subject somewhat.

AJMiller, I like this very much. A thoughtful relationship of the grave and landscape.

I'm starting to wander around in the Finger Lakes region in upstate NY, both for the enjoyment of it and in anticipation of a hopeful book project on the history of the region (I am definitely a historian more than a photographer!). In a foray a week or two ago to the eastern edge of Cayuga Lake, I ran across this view of St. Patrick's Cemetery, looking west in the mid-morning sun with the lake in the background.
