The really nice thing about shooting in cemeteries is that you never have to tell anyone to hold still.

Some very good images in this thread. I've been on a cemetery kick recently, for whatever reason (maybe...being near interesting cemeteries?). Mausoleum in Metairie, LA. Kodak Tri-X, 150mm lens.

I like the comp of the second one. That's a nice cemetery. Rich with marble work.

Thanks, I like the tighter crop also, good thing I only took one lens or I might have used a wider angle to catch more. It's a marvelous cemetery, I ran out of time, and some maintenance was going on, preventing at least another half dozen photo ops. Any photographer in or visiting Houston would be well served to check this lovely place out.

    AlanButler57,

Just a few blocks from Glenwood is Olivewood. A historical Black cemetery.
Its been a while since I was there, but they were in the process of cleaning it up.
    It had become completely overgrown.
    Lots of potential there also.

Thank you! I will check it out the next time I head that way, but the way my back feels I'll probably go with a lighter camera!
