    Linhof Master Question

Bob (if you're watching), or anyone else: What is the small white plastic tube that runs along the right side of the drop bed designed to do? It just seems to get in the way when I extend the lens along the rail. If it has no important job to do I might be tempted to remove it ....Thanks.

It holds a cable release if you want to use it from that position, it allows you to press "in" from the front of the bed.

Hello Steve, I own a late model MT Classic and see no such tube on mine. There's nothing to get in the way when extending the front standard onto the upper track. Regards, Mike.

Sorry Frank, didn't see your informed response before my less uninformed one. Mike.
