Kind of close to what the print looks like -- lots of reflections in the print that look like part of the image -- and perhaps a bit contrasty, too. But you have the idea.

That is most excellent, Vaughn! Congrats. It must be amazing in carbon, if it looks this good on a laptop screen.

In another thread, jp suggested I take a look at some photos by Eliot Porter. I got the book he mentioned and was looking through it. There was a lot of close-up, but not "macro" images of patterns and textures. They were also color images that I would not have not considered traditional subjects for color film. With that in mind, I loaded some Portra 400 and looked for subjects that might convey the same ideas in patterns, fractals, and subtle color relationships. This was the one image that I saw in that vein. I feel like it's fairly abstract even though it's identifiable.

Brian, I am definitely getting a Porter feel from this. I saw one of his dye transfer prints in person at the Center for Creative Photography, and his use of the blue sky reflections really stood out.

Yes, the reflection, texture, movement mix has somewhat of a Porter feel!
