Thanks Randy! The roof deck was so tight i may have had the tripod in a bad spot! Maybe i could frame the 4x5 on a light box so no one will be the wiser! Haha....it's an excuse to go back anyway :-)

Oops - expired E6 chemicals and looks like the drum was not fully dry. Fruit Ninja

Don't tell people it's a mistake. Show it on light box and smile.

Mistakes rarely manifest themselves in a way that compliments th composition as well as in this case!
And I love the very warm tone. Did you use incandescent light for this, or is it just the tired chemistry?

Thank you Randy and Koraks! I do quite like the end result and the good news is that I still had everything setup so I went and made another shot of the same scene that I'll process with fresh chemicals soon. I have a feeling that I am going to end up liking this "mistake" more than the clean version but only time will tell

Koraks - I used a color balanced light box. The film is just slightly expired (Dec 2014) so I am quite certain the warmness and slight underdevelopment is due to tired chemistry.

Well, here are at least three mistakes in one exposure. 1. Failed to quarantine a film holder known to have a light leak, and then took that film holder on a trip to Iceland, where I won't have a chance to re-shoot any time soon. (The light leak on the other side of the same holder is much worse, more's the pity.) 2. Using a 2-stop GND filter where none (or at most a 1-stop) was called for, and compounding that by covering the already dark cliffs. 3. Vignetting at the top: lots of front rise plus a bit of front tilt with a vertical composition, and a lens with a 200mm image circle. Other than that, I like it!

    Thanks for sharing.

Ive been experiencing similar light leaks in corners of my photos similar to the one you posted here! I've been scratching my head and wondering why it is so...
You mention that its a film holder light leak issue, one you shouldve quarantined.

Where on the film holder would that light leak be? (a gap in the dark slide, side of the holder..?). I really want to avoid this issue.

The leak on the other side is more obvious--the light is coming in through a gap in the side, not through the end where the dark slide goes. Happens with every exposure, so this holder is done for, as far as I'm concerned.
