Wow! Where to start with this one. After pouring the collodion, I knocked the bottle over and had to grab the 8x10 plate with my thumb on the right side. I didn't close the rear dark slide all the way before exiting my dark box causing the fogging. I didn't seat the plate holder all the way in my camera while exposing the plate. Just to name a few.....
I got a box of Royal-X Pan with my Speed Graphic. Free film!!?? Awesome!! No expiration date on the box. Some sort of sales sample. Probably stored in a closet for 30 years. I meant to try a shot at iso 200 to start, but my meter was set for a roll of RVP50 I had just put through my Bessa and I was so anxious to take a shot with my shiny new Graflex that I didn't look at it before taking a reading. So take a film rated at 1250, age it in a So. Cal. attic for 30 years then over-expose by 5 stops and you get something like...

I found some Type 55 that expired in 1973. Surprisingly the pods did not feel dried out or ruptured, so I tried shooting a sheet. When I pulled it through the rollers and peeled it there was nothing there; the negative and positive were totally dry. The pod still felt supple, so I squeezed it by hand and some goop popped out. I quickly rubbed whatever liquid there was on the negative simply to see if it was still reactive at all, and sure enough it started to develop the blank negative a bit. Not the result I was looking for, but better than nothing, I suppose.
