Austin, I don't think you are able to mess an image up, even if you try! Could anyone explain to me what Echeresque distortion it is that I'm not seeing? The only thing that I see is that the tower seems to be less head on than the front of the building, but I can't think of any camera movement which would do that, so I assume the old building simply isn't completely squared up. Actually, I think "find the problem" makes for a good quiz!

This, I think, is what Austin is referring to http://www.mcescher.com

I like the art of both (Austin and Escher)

You guys are too kind. Believe me, I mess up pictures all the time. A majority of them actually. Peter, you were right about the distortion. If you look at it again, you'll see that the schoolhouse is all squared away, as if you were looking at it straight on, but at the same time you can see two sides of the structure-impossible! The effect becomes especially weird if you focus on the sunlit areas. Basically what happened was that I was shooting the structure from an angle and then over-enthusiastically "corrected" it by swinging the back. But hey, if you don't mind, I don't mind!

I agree with everyone that Austin can do little wrong, but I also agree with Austin. If you look at the left side of the building you will see that you can see quite a bit of the left side of the front section, less of the second section and so on until you can't see any of the left side of the back section. That is quite a twist either in the building our in Austin's bellows.

That's what I was thinking. Stop cluttering up this thread with perfectly good shots and leave room for those of us who actually MAKE mistakes!

I've got a new photographic goal: for my shots to be as good as Austin's rejects.

I know you might not think this was a mistake... as it's perfectly exposed... but I shot it with the intention of using it for a double exposure, and having a model kissing the moon and holding it in her palm, and then forgot that I had shot the moon and didn't read the film holder, just noticed it was "exposed" and so grabbed it while I was processing a bunch of negs and developed it, after I was like ... DAMN!!! especially since the exposure is perfect haha
