    Re: Lets See Your Darkroom

Yes, I got the digital K250 used on this forum for a good price. It has several features that are nice such as the lights off button, a timer with shut off and an auto shut off in case the temp goes out of range. It was manufactured in 1996, but works perfectly. I thought about sending it to Hass to rebuild it, but don't see a reason to. They are made really well and work for a really long time. It also works quite well at low flows with the flow cut down to 30% or so. I found an article on the bulb dimmer to extend the bulb life at: http://www.trippingthroughthedark.co...om/durst-138s/ which made a lot of sense. I also have an Aristo D-750 dimmer which I think I can use safely. Will review the specs on it. I'm also buying a case of the Sylvania 130v 300 watt bulbs just in case. I'll store them in case I need them in the future. Just something else for the kids to put in the garage sale when I'm gone.........

The plumbing came out really well. This weekend it was cold, so I used regular tap on the cold side at 65 Deg(didn't turn the chiller on), and hot on the hot side. In the summer, I can use chiller on the cold side and tap at well over 70 deg on the hot side. That way, I'm only using a little of the chilled to cool the regular tap. Years ago before I bought the chiller, I developed film and the water got up to over 80 deg and the emulsion reticulated-Ouch! A pricey lesson on 8x10 film.

And yet another photo with the CLS head installed. Wall mounted the power supplies to the head and the Hemot (electric motor), so far all is good. Now just need to print......

Me too. This company uses some of the products my company makes to produce commercial and architectural lighting: http://designledproducts.com/

And my enlarger has the PCB from an LED stage light in it: http://img.alibaba.com/wsphoto/v0/35...ed-par-can.jpg

Steve, would you please tell us some more about your stage light enlarger implementation and format sizes?

I need to make some progress on larger enlargers, as we now have a member considering a 14x17 enlarger. I may work on one myself.

There are some threads on APUG about it. I will see if I can find them and add some links (it's only 5x4).

    EDIT - Here they are:

    http://www.apug.org/forums/forum43/7...ad-update.html
    http://www.apug.org/forums/forum43/7...ht-source.html
    http://www.apug.org/forums/archive/i...p/t-62902.html

If you do a search on APUG for LED Enlarger, there are quite a few posts from others who have done similar things.

For a 14 x17 enlarger (I assume that's inches) some of our flexible lighting strips as shown in the DesignLED link might work.

Thanks Steve, I have been looking at APUG, but LED heads are a moving target and new tech is constant.

Yes, 14x17 is inches. There are lot's of new LED light panels with even transmission but not enough power. We need lumens! Lot's of lumens.

The Par cans for 4x5 is a great idea, but how do we scale up!

Around here, we are having our street lighting replaced by LED units... and I have a friend who works in the street lighting department of the electric company. Hmmmm!
