That looks great. I like the bench vise. My space is in constant change, it's so much fun. I have a couple of the Beseler 45 MXT enlargers work very well. All manner of light sources available, condenser set up is foolproof.
My first space, my father constructed for me. It was located in a long unused coal bunker, in our basement, walls made from corrugated cardboard grocery boxes.
Great place
Hey, you've got bike wheels in your darkroom too! Mine's nowhere as neat, though.
How do you deal with ventilation and dust?
I figured the vise is for squeezing the last bit of shadow detail out of a negative...

Hello,
I'm not that lucky on those aspects. There is no ventilation when I work, I have a fan pointing to a kind of open window that I switch on after a session to refresh the air.
About the dust I try to keep the space clean and when it is time to hang the negatives for drying I do it at very last time before to exit the room in order to limit the dust flying around.
Yes, the vise is for squeezing films and prints No, it was actually in use when that room was more a mountain bike workshop than a darkroom, hence the wheels on the walls and other bicycle stuff
The worst part is that I don't have a personal tap and sink but a common one with a very, very small basin.
I looked around for a long time to find something better but there was no other option. You know, Italy is crowded and houses and flats are small.
Better than let someone else print my stuff the way I want which couldn't be my way of course

Roberto,
Your darkroom calms my soul and inspires me. I am a bit overwhelmed with the situation in my own at the moment. Your darkroom works, and shows character. It has a free spirit!
...Dilettante! Who you calling a Dilettante?
Thank you very much Ironage, your words are really appreciated.
I will improve a couple of things in the future (a second safe light and a small shelf on the dry area) and free some space in the shelf at the bottom.
I'm not sure 100% sure that there is enough space on the side of the 6x6 Durst enlarger to accommodate the Beseler. I will see

An MXT base is 26 inches (660mm) wide rounded up to the nearest inch. (31 inches 787mm depth) If you can raise the M605 base on a piece of block board to match the level of the two machines' baseboards you will be able to move an easel around without colliding with the other unit. That's the biggest problem I can see with using the two in close proximity.
I plan on running my M605 alongside my MXT when I get my new darkroom finished, but I should have more bench space.
I like a good 'lived-in' darkroom. very nice
