Good price for a Epson F3200?

I want to know how much can be a nice price to pay for a Epson F3200?.
I found someone who is selling one, but I want to know how to deal.
It´s basically for some 4x5 and 6x7 negatives.

The performance of the F3200 is not any better than that of the 3200 and 4870, and the scanning area is smaller. Since you can often find the 3200 and 4870 for $150 or less I think around $100-$150 would be a good price for the F3200.

They never sold the F3200 in the US. It has sensor upside down so is claimed to not suffer from dust coming to rest on it. And it has a a very small footprint and is sooooo easy to use. Far less hassle than a flatbed scanner.
But as Sandy says, the scan quality is not brilliant. Depends what you want it for. Quick scans for web or basic reproduction then it can't be beat. But if you are trying to extract the absolute most from a neg or tranny then one of the newer flatbeds would be better.
What's it worth? Since you are looking at European prices I think Sandy's valuation is low if its in really good condition and fully functional with its silverfast software and epson scan. If you are in the US then don't count on getting any support from epson.
And check every film holder for scratches before you buy. Each has a plastic anti newton base to it and they are easy to damage.

I ´m doing some scanning with a friend´s v750 but most of the time 3200 dpi. And I made prints about 100x90 without big problems ( centimeters, of course).
So I wanted almost the same quality! .
The seller is asking me about 490 euros, but I find it quite expensive having in mind it cost 679 new, ( 3-5 years ago!).

I´m in Spain.
Any advice?

Epson scanners have gotten better with every new model, the 3200 was the starting point. The V700 (or 750) were noticeably better than the previous 4990, I'd go for at least a 4990, the Epson outlet occasionally has V700s in the mid $300 range ($345 last I looked).

I’ve scanned w/ a 3200, and was always quite pleased; I never went beyond 11”x14” prints.

I now use a refurbished 4990 – and I’m a smidgeon more pleased with similar work.

To help you with price comparisons, I purchased the 4990 last year at the Epson Clearance Store for $279 (w/ free shipping). It arrived w/o a finger print.

They pop-up occasionally. (Currently, they have a refurbished V-700 for $415.)
