Hello from Davis, California (near Sacramento)

Hello all,
I looked up this site for advice on a changing tent and decided I should join in and actually learn something.

I took up photography for a second time in 2006. I spent a year shooting almost exclusively medium format pinhole (Zero Image 69) and TLR (various Yashica Mats) and caught the large format bug with a 4x5 pinhole camera (Lensless Camera Company). My first and only lensed 4x5 camera is my Wista 45DX with 90, 150, and 210mm Symmar APO lenses. I most consistently shoot B&W and my current favorite is a large batch of Tri-X Pan that expired in 1981-2. It was treated well and comes out quite nicely in Rodinal.
I shoot portraits, nudes, landscapes, and various found objects and mostly post to flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/refractionless/. Feel free to look if you care to.

Several months ago a model/photographer friend told me that she was going to do some large format work. I immediately became excited about her having the same passion, but she then explained that she had only meant that was making large prints. She then added, "No, not large format film. I'm not crazy." Sigh.

Welcome!!!! I've heard folks say that to be a LF photographer you need to have a patient mind and a strong back... sounds about right to me.
