I've been struggling with Salt Prints for quite a while now. I finally made a couple that I'm not afraid to show.

    Re: post alternative techniques

Oh...just a local show in a cooperative gallery I belong to here in Humboldt County. My sister was in town and snapped the photo on Friday morning and the show came down the next day after I got my 2nd vac shot. The show was a great excuse to do new printing and get things matted and in frames. These are home now and I get to enjoy them, as I had framed them only a day of two before I had to hang them. One or two of the 5.5x14 prints (framed 12x22) might go back into the gallery -- we are given around 4'x8' of wall space each normally...but each member expands into the front space once a year. So I always have work up -- just not as much. There were three new 5x7 platinums framed 11x14 in the show that will go back into the gallery...they are pretty sweet, too...includes the one below that I have shown here before, but finally matted and framed it.

Also, here is the front of the gallery -- I rode my bike in and met my sister. I also took the creek image while taking a ~25 mile ride on the bike (mixed single-track/dirt road/pavement).

Very cool--I'm curious if you have a particular aesthetic when it comes to providing a white rebate around the print area, since some of the images seem offset within the frame. It's a neat effect, though it might be to just give you more space to write down the pricing options...

    Re: post alternative techniques

Generally about a half inch more weight on the bottom...sometimes a little more with vertical images. Aim for about 3" to 4" of mat border. Still working on mat sizes for 11x14s -- 12x22 for the half-frame seems to be good...so for full frame I might try 18x22 and save the 16x20 frames for the 8x10s.

No pricing (size) options - contacts only...

Excellent, that's great info--especially like the effect on your skinny portrait orientation works.
