Another in the crystal series. Carbon transfer print. 8x10 fp4. A fun project.

It is fun to play with scale. An image I have shared before (8x10 carbon print), but I thought it would go well with the crystal images. The ceiling of Skull Cave, about an 80' tall lava tube at this point, natural light from the entrance.

I like that Vaughn, for some reason I have a picture in my head of you laying on your back under a tripod focusing straight up

No, the camera is about 10 to 15 degrees less than straight up, and I was able to sit with the camera over me...thankfully as focusing in that light takes awhile (glad for the 300mm/f5.6!) There is a trail thru this lava tube -- I am squished off the trail in a slight alcove that allows people to past.

The image below is from about the same place, but is from two 4x5 negatives taken a few years earlier, each enlarged to 16x20 on silver gelatin photo paper. The camera was pointed straight up on this one!

From this afternoon, a new wet plate glass negative:

8x10 glass, shot with the Deardorff and the 15” Lerebours et Secretan lens.
    See it bigger here.

Hendrik, he must have edited or replaced the photo at Flickr. That's an issue with posting the underlying URL rather than the Flickr-supplied one sometimes. You can see the various sizes here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulbarden/28069311709/

Experimenting a bit. This is a a carbon transfer print made from an 8x10
Lith film negative. In the flesh it has the look of a charcoal drawing. The lith film makes experiments painless as it's so cheap.
