Carbon transfer from 8x10 Fomapan 100 negative. Some minor issues, but overall I'm pleased with my progress since I revived my carbon transfer interest a few weeks ago.

A little more info particularly on the shortcomings of the print in this blog post: https://tinker.koraks.nl/photography/corn-print

That subject lends itself well to alternative techniques!

Lovely, Andrew! When I used Tannic acid to tone some cyanotypes, I used household ammonia to bleach the prints. Got some interesting colors going back and forth. Some with a bit more purple than you are showing here.

Should have kept notes...just having too much fun. I used far less Tannic acid for a much shorter time.

    A new one from me.

    Green-toned 10x8 Cyanotype

    Hahnemühle Platinum Rag
Original print (old cyanotype 10% mix) left to dry 24hrs, not bleached, then toned
Fenugreek seeds infused in 1.5l boiling distilled water, print in strained mix to taste

Very nice--did you happen to use a Krystal Seal envelope for your paper? (If I understood the notes for your Scotland shot correctly, you're the first one I've seen who doesn't sleeve the negative instead.)

At any rate, I was curious if you've come across the enterprising souls who are doing cyanotypes on a glass substrate (somewhat analogous to an orotone I assume)--strikes me that it might be a good approach for your botanical series.

That's correct: yes I use the Kyrstal Seal for the paper. I cut the cellophane envelope to size and remove two sides, so I can simply slide the paper inside easily. Using the Krystal Seal envelopes is a recommendation from Christopher James' big Alt Pro book. I do this by default for both Argyrotypes and Cyanotypes.

Tbh I've only printed like about 10 Cyanotypes altogether so far; this last session was my first using the Hahnemühle paper as opposed to Cot320. Tbh feels almost the same, though the Hahnemühle may have just a slightly smoother finish on the smoother side than the Cot320. No issues with either, both fabulous papers. Haven't tried any other substrate.
Working with glass sounds very cool but not particularly practical with kids around!

By sheer heresy(!), I've just this week made a couple of digital negatives so I can try doing some alt pro on enlarged 35mm negs from my Leicas.
