Actually I lied, rather to say I shot both sides so this is my 2nd shot consecutive photoghraph. The first is similar except the sun isn't above the horizon . . and there is only one light flare in the upper corner. Having scanned these shots I spent some time playing in PS 5, which brought up variations which look as if lens flare may be the culprit? http://sdrv.ms/MXo2ld What do you think?

...woops. Squished the film closing the slide. Better than the other side lol, which is a light leak. 1st lesson, get better loading film, check. Took this a few months ago, getting the hang of making image to the internet is a severe PIA for the first time.
common issue . nice for the first image

This actually represents a few firsts for me - making a picture with a large format camera (my 4x5 Cambo monorail view camera), printing and developing a negative (using my Omega D2).

The print was scanned on a Canoscan 9000F and then downsized for the net.

Not the most imaginative of shots, that will come as I grow in understanding my camera and what I can do with it.

I bought a 4x5 Premo Folding View Camera at an auction in 1975 for $20. It had a B&L rapid rectilinear. This is my first exposure taken that year... I am amazed I still have the negative! Robbie

    Hi all!

Figured it would be appropriate to make my first post here about my first large-format exposure. Which also happened to be my first attempt at film development and scanning. I was sure I was going to screw it up at about a dozen places along the way, so it was such a pleasant surprise for it to turn out at all.

Hard to overstate just how cool it was to hold that first negative in my hands.

Not my absolute first LF shot, but an early (1985) attempt of a hand-held panning shot using a Graflex B 5x7

    Thanks!

I've been shooting film for about a year and a half now on my RB67, and actually got my Intrepid back in February, but I put off actually using it until this month because I felt a little intimidated by the whole process, from loading the film on. Not to mention the cost--I previously had my film developed and scanned by The Darkroom, but they want $4 for development and $8-$16 for scanning--so that pushed me into just making the jump and buying a Mod54 bundle, chemistry/containers, and an Epson V800. A bit pricey upfront, but it won't take long for that to turn into savings.

I was both relieved and delighted at how comfortable, freeing, and just plain fun it turned out to be--aside from a fair amount of cursing and fumbling as I loaded my first set of holders in a too-small dark bag.

Can't wait to get out there again with my kit.
