strange line

I've an epson gt7000 which I use to scan my 5x4s but it puts this strange line down the scan can anyone tell me what it is? and what to do about it?

Check the area of the glass where the calibration strip is (usually next to the hinge for the lid); this kind of stripe is common if there is any kind of mark in this area. Ensure the glass is clean and try again.
