Last week I got my first barrel lens that does not use an iris to set the stops. I have searched and done a lot of reading in the archives here and on other photo sites as well as on Google. I have gotten a lot of information and suggestions as to how to make a set of DIY Waterhouse stops. There is, however, something I have not seen discussed.
The barrel of my lens has an inside diameter of 4cm. The slot is 3cm. When I cut a piece of material to fit through the slot and also cut it with an arc to match the wall of the barrel opposite the slot, I still have open spaces between the barrel and both sides of my stop material. How does one block these openings?
