10 3/4" ILEX nuarc WIDE FIELD PROCESS PARAGON LENS

I have just acquired a nice , heavy process lens as and am hoping to glean any info as to the use/history etc of this lens-

I plan to use it on an 8x10 enlarger- is it suitable?
The glass is in great condition but it is very heavy and i will need to secure it well to the frame etc
Can anyone provide info as to how to make a satisfactory jam/back/lock nut to secure it?
The "philistine" might silicon glue it - but i am hoping there is a more discrete method apart from having a ring machined

    thanks

I am told that a hot glue gun at several locations makes a suitable fix. And, of course, it is not permanent.
