Thanks Alex. It's hard to burn/dodge these little contact prints but I did do a tiny amount of burning on the sky/sunlit beach area and dodged a bit under the pier.
Hi there, my first shot on my Graphic View II using sheet film (as opposed to my initial test on a 6x7 roll film back!) In fact my first LF negative! This is a stitched scan as I don't have an enlarger big enough to take the negs, yet. Shot through a Wollensak 159mm f9.5 on to HP5. Location is Obernbergersee in Austria, close to the border with italy. Constructive critique welcome!
What a wonderful start to LF Andy. I love the subject you found and the placement with the various textures int he foreground and bakcground. I might have backed up a little bit to have some more breathing room to left and right of the rock, but the narrows view is also nice the way it excludes the water.
sehr gut!

I'm So Negative,
I like the lower 40% of your image the most--for composition/energy reasons. Nice work; nice values.

Thanks Nicholas! The water in the foreground has a lot of slime/vegetation of some sort floating on it. I was pretty backed up towards a slope on this one. I did wander around a fair bit before I set up. I do agree with what you're saying though, some more breathing space for the rock, which is the focal point. It's a stunning area for shots and will probably visit again, it's not far... The other thing I noticed while setting up the 4x5 is the amount of people that stop and talk! And I thought the Rolleiflex was a conversation starter!
