On the upper left the lightness level reads mostly 95 out of 100 in the lightness channel, not quite blown out. If I was to pull it down, without there being any detail I think it would look unnatural. I wish there would have been less haze and more of the mountain, oh well.

I prefer the PM image -- but next time arrange for some heftier clouds to show up. Actually, I like the feel of the PM image when cropped just like the AM image...as it invites my eyes up the canyon rather into the far hills and sky.

The difference for me is the where the weight of the images are placed, but in both, the light is balanced wonderfully and very well seen. Looks to be a nice place to hang out and check out the changing light.

Thanks Vaughn, good points! The Selway river is one of my favorite places to hang out. It's always in constant change.

I like the AM picture, especially the chiaroscuro effect of the light and shade on the hillside on the right. It just feels like the morning to me.
    Where are we going?
And why are we in this handbasket?

Thanks Joe, yea the chiaroscuro effect really adds to the depth and it was a cool crisp morning.

Very nicely done, tgtaylor. I wish I could see the print.

Thank you Joe. It was the "long barrel" version of the 9" Verito, stopped down to f6.
