Nice Brandon! Amazing it's still that way after all these years. Did you use a filter for this shot?

Merg, another Wow!
Pete and Pat, thank you.
I have recently been looking through my earlier work. This photograph was made at the location now named Weston Beach (after Edward Weston). I had an opportunity to show Edward this print in 1956.

I assume that Edward was as impressed with this photograph as we are. It is really amazing that it is from early in your photographic career. You obviously had great vision from the beginning. Thanks for posting some of your earlier work, it is a treat for us.
Alan, your comments give me thought.
I was about sixteen when I shared a small portfolio of my 4x5 contact prints with Edward. The photo above was included, and in his usual gracious manner he was complimentary of my progress. As to early work, it is some of my best; simply the way I looked at the world around me, close-up. Then came a brief period of attempting to alter my vision; it didn't work. I seem to have ended up where I started, same way of looking at my surroundings. I have not moved photography forward, but been true to my vision, and had a fulfilling journey.
Best,
Merg
