Thank you for your encouraging comments.

The film plane for the Shen Hao back is set back about 45mm. There is a focusing hood that is separate from the film holder. You focus using the one then swap to do the exposure. It is a bit cumbersome. Here's a link to one on eBay to see how it works: Shen Hao 6x17 6x12 6x9 Panorama Roll Film Back

Lovely image, Brad! I've always wanted to visit the shores of the Pacific Northwest. Some day!

I took my first trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in early October this year. It rained nearly constantly during my 4 days there, but those conditions resulted in some fun and dark pictures within the deep forests. I'd love to visit again in spring when the streams are at their highest.

I took this on my Intrepid 8x10 (not the best camera, but the Chamonix 8x10 is a bit pricey for me right now) with a 250mm Fujinon W.
    Film: Ilford FP4+ 125

Ha, definitely not a place to lose your reciprocity failure charts!

Nicely done, what stream were you on? I've pushed my way up most of the backcountry tribs over the years, but this view isn't ring a bell.

This was along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River near the Chimneys picnic area.

No kidding about reciprocity failure charts! On two occasions I was getting exposure times of 2+ minutes at 9 or 10 in the morning—before adding in reciprocity failure compensation. It was definitely a good challenge between focusing and finding compositions in very dark conditions and determining proper exposure times.

Excellent, if you're headed northbound toward Gatlinburg, the first "Quiet Walkway" past the picnic area will take you to a particularly photogenic section of the LP--though you might need some expensive wide angle glass to handle those house-sized boulders.
