Thanks Vaughn, it's a shame with the development issues. I like the image, wasn't sure the jetty blocked it too much but there are lines and details drawing you all over the image so I think it works.
Here's sign that the pandemic is getting close to the end. Stockpiles of large toilet paper are being jettisoned. Lochsa river Toyo AX 4x5

Makes my blood boil to see the TP rolls mucking up the river. But good for you Thad for recording this! Has this been publicized?
John, I actually took the photo several years ago. I was in Moscow, Idaho and read in the paper about a truck wreck that said the truck came close to going into the river. I was driving home along the Lochsa and thought that I'd watch for where the wreck happened. It was about dusk and a light rain, but when I saw it I had to photograph it. Close hell, it was in the river. The paper rolls were at least 6 feet in diameter, water logged and couldn't be pulled from the river. They probably came from the paper mill at Lewiston, Idaho. It is a shame though, as this is a designated Wild and Scenic river. I've had board members for conservation groups want to buy this photo.

Kayaked there last June and all was good. Did it the year before, in June as well, and while we were there a small RV went in the river. They got things cleaned up pretty quickly.
I do feel (just) a bit better...knowing that the "event" was accidental and not intentional.
There's about a ninety mile stretch of Hwy. 12 that parallels the Lochsa river that's extremely curvy and treacherous. Boating in high water, class 4 plus rapids, in June isn't exactly very safe either and I never thought about the hazards of traffic going into the river at the same time.

Another photo from along the Lochsa river. These 4x5s were taken with my old metal trusty Toyo AX.
