    I think the vertical is a tighter, more focused and clean composition. The horizontal is almost always my favorite for landscapes, but in this case I feel the feeder fall serves mainly to distract, rather than pull the composition together more.

    Just another random opinion from someone on the internet.

    Both look really good, in any case.

    Ha ha! Not surprised that you asked, Alan. Yes, very difficult to print. I recently had a request for an 11x14 and it took the better part of a morning to get it right. What I posted is the scan of an 8x10 version on Ilford Classic.

    After a few cold days as the lake's ice was breaking...

    Ebony 45su with Fujinon CM W 125mm / 5.6 on TMax 400 in Xtol....to be printed in the darkroom, will clean that finger print off the top before I do
