Nice shot John. Sharp, good contrast.

A shot I have had my eye but getting low tide, dusk and some decent weather to coincide can be tricky!

Thanks Philip!
I also made another version from a lower viewpoint, which involved getting rather muddy.

Haven Falls in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This was during some colder Spring temperatures, or the water would have been flowing a little better. The cedar tree on the left side was in full morning sun along with a hot spot on the bottom of the falls and being new to LF and b&w film I was curious how the film would handle it.

Tobias,
I like the vertical composition best. Keep at it.
I lean toward the vertical shot, too, but both shots are quite satisfying.
Not sure why I lean toward the vertical one...
Hmm, maybe I am. For one, I like the creek emerging from the frame’s side border, rather than from the frame’s bottom border. Maybe easier on the mind’s eye? The clouds are really nice and moody in both shots.
I like how you’ve captured the black rock’s eroded texture, even if it was at the expense of the brightest portions of snow and water.
