I showed this to my wife, it took her a couple of minutes but then she got it. Her comment was "Bob Ross would call that a Happy Accident".

    Hi Matt,

Really like the subtle, almost desaturated color in combination with the soft focus lens. Well done. Would like to hear more about the reversal process and look forward to seeing more of your prints.

Hopefully I will actually be making a print (Pt/pd) of this image tonight or the next couple of days. Ansel photographed this rock, as have thousands (millions?) of others, and me...more than once. When AA photographed it (Range of Light) that chunk wasn't missing...someday the rock will go missing.

Nice, the dark forest complements the rock's underside, plus it creates depth for the scene.

Have you ever explored back there?

Really I just wanted to see if I could do a vertical with this camera. I need to try this again on a better day. It started to snow after shooting this and I left. It's hard to get good light here in this valley - only part of the year does it ever have sun shining into it and only part of the day. I have an idea for a shot in spring, if it works out, with this vertical setup near where I was shooting.

I likey0our vertical image for several reasons including vertical pans are relatively uncommon. I search for times and places where the light is nice and soft as in this image. Bright sun is not always our friend in photography.

Not too far back is the Wawona Road heading up to Tunnel View, so the slope heads up fairly fast.

The same rock has shown up in this thread awhile back...8x10 platinum/palladium This one taken in October, the previous one in the month of February.

Yeah...and it sits right next to the road...just a little bit of walking because there is no parking right there (first world problem). I did not print that image tonight -- I printed the other 5x14 above.

I also printed this image below -- taken from the Merced River bed -- I'll see how it dries.
