Great shot Bryan. Printing it a little darker would make it really gothic.

Jeesh...I'm kind of embarrassed to show this here - but I figured I'd better double-post it so anyone who'd read my "Up off the Mat" thread in the business section could follow up. At any rate...I'd referred to finally getting back into the darkroom to print - and was initially very excited by the negative belonging to the print below. My initial response to this print was "this is garbage!" - but then I started to like it. Still, I think there's way too much going on, and the top area is just a tad dark and too contrasty (I think). Right now I'm working up the gumption to print it again, and will post results. Here's the "garbage" version: (maybe will seem a bit less "garbage-y" over time, but not likely)
John,
I like the busyness in this print.
I see what you mean about tonalities... If it were me, If I couldn't easily dodge up the areas that were too dark, I'd have my bleaching brush out and working , lightening where needed. Otherwise, I think this is a fine work.
