Great image Don. The exposure and composition are right on. Lots to like.

US 101 Highway Bridge, Astoria Oregon.

    I spliced two 8x10 scans...
The 4 Mile long US 101 Bridge across the Columbia River at Astoria, Oregon. Longest continuous truss bridge in N. America.
This is a 8"x20" film negative scan. The photo was with a KB Canham Ultra Large Format camera. The very wide angle lens (210mm Super Symmar XL, Ilford HP5 film, YG filter) made it possible to stand within a few steps from being almost directly under the bridge.

I miss that camera, but at 82, I just don't have enough steam anymore.

I'm loving the work here the last few weeks. Especially the Astoria bridge which I make a point to cross when ever I go out there.

I tried my hand at split toning with Thiourea and Selenium over the thanksgiving break.
FrogTown Creek at Desoto Falls in NE Georgia.
Ilford FP4 , HC-110 , Split grade printed using 00 and #3, lots of burning, and split toned using Thiourea and Selenium.

More about it in my blog if interested in the details or want to leave feedback.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Love the bridge Reinhold. I like the pilings in the water especially.

Here is a photo taken at the top of Falls Branch Falls in the Rich Mountain WMA near Ellijay, GA.
