You definitely get what you pay for. For me, the Intrepid 4x5 was a great educational tool. I took some good photos with it and got into large format using it. But once I used a higher quality camera, its deficiencies really came to light.

High praise! Thanks. That work influenced me a lot in embracing the "horizontal"/"lateral" of the railroad tracks. Of course color field painting too.

I took this photograph along Minnesota's wonderful North Shore, one of my favorite places on earth, this past August. The water levels were dangerously low, but that worked as a blessing for me, since it gave me the opportunity to photograph the North Shore's many waterfalls from angles that are typically inaccessible.

John, what an amazing photograph! So many details are just perfect. The layers of depth of course are what jump out, but the way the grass is cut, the lonely small trees both in the foreground and the grass, the linear elements found everywhere, and really this almost perfectly constructed utopia on one side on the river with the wilds beyond. The light, the sky, it all works so damn well. A master piece in my eyes. I'm sure you're very proud of this one!
I followed your last road trip and it's all so inspiring. The ups and downs day to day certainly paid off!
