Ooh, that's a great shot, David.

But I like all the images on this page, although very different. Well done, all.

cool image. but, its got a lot of texture.. everywhere. i can't take my eyes off the black rock in the bottom right corner and the shadow just below the mountain. the two rime. however, this means i am not looking at the mountain. also the sky has lots of little clouds .. texture. this also makes it hard for the mountain to stand out. it would be easier if the sky was dark and cloudless - dare i say.

i don't know what your intentions are with the mountain. but i think the rock in the bottom right corner and relates well it terms of placement with the mountain. except for the shadow and the busy sky which makes the mountain less prominent.

by the way we call this type of mountain formation "Khashem" which means nose in Saudi Arabia a man's nose is the most proud feature. in pre islamic Arabia 1400 years ago people were humiliated by cutting their noses especially in war after the enemy dies as a symbol of humiliating the defeated army. Islam forbids that in respect for the dead, alive and defeated. also to eliminate fighting for a personal grudge - i think.

anyways, i liked the photo so i thought i would chip in my 2 cents.

why is it so purple? i like the contrast between the dunes and the trees - conceptual contrast that is. i especially like the green trees and how they stand out against the darker ones. i think this might be a good subject on its own.

I'm not sure I would like it better if it was more pronounced. I like the subtlety of it.
