Very nice set of photo’s these last 4 or five posts. But are you aware that there’s a thread for Trees here, most of them are deep in the bush and can hardly be seen as landscapes

Some of these are posted in the Trees topic. Same images, both places.

I do know there is a trees thread--and I have posted some images from this location there. This one seemed more in the spirit of landscape. For those looking for a rabbit hole, I can recommend John R. Stilgoe's book "What is Landscape" (MIT Press, 2015), which traces the meaning of that word and related others. He tells us that the word originally comes from old Frisian (coastal Netherlands) "landschop," mispronounced by Englishmen as "landskep" (shoveled land) and from there to "landskip" and finally (so far) "landscape." Derived from the word describing coastal land reclaimed for agriculture (shoveled) the word came to apply in England to any land shaped for human use. These rude "shelters" we are seeing more and more in wooded landscapes seem to fit that description.

Haha this must stem from the period of Floris V or so in my country then (the Dutch word now is 'landschap'). 'rude "shelters"': nice perspective!, I love etymology, always inspiring.

    Beautiful, Lasse!

Tones, composition, light, sense of movement. I can't imagine anything that could make this better than it is now.
