A common New England landmark: A farmer’s stone wall behind my house. Farmers stacked the rocks they plowed up to mark the edges of their fields.

Whole plate size ASA 25 dry plate.

Excellent. Typically way too many "tourists" floating around. At least, last time I was there.

One more from Jekyll Island. After reflecting I think this is my favorite of the day. Unusual for me, this was the second image of the day on this beach. Usually I hit my stride a few images in and make the keepers. But this was a little after 8am, and the sun was rising fast...later images have less beautiful light. As typical for south Georgia, the light is great for about an hour after sunrise and then it's pretty rough for the rest of the day.

Very Nice, I have something similar from Sunset Crater in AZ, but it is 35mm DSLR. Arizona is same way with light, about 1/2 prior to the sun to a few minutes after it pokes its head up above the horizon. From there it is like being in an Easy Bake Oven during the summer.

Thanks! Perhaps a bit of "grass is greener" syndrome, but I just love AZ in the summer! The heat, in my opinion, is no big deal - compared to south GA / FL heat + humidity. And with the lack of humidity, a polarizer really brings down the sky nicely in AZ, at least in my limited experience, whereas sometimes even a polarizer + R25 filter doesn't do much here. The sky is slightly burned in above. I only wish I had some big puffy clouds but that's uncommon in the winter, and unfortunately the airplanes from JAX to ATL always make contrails around this island. At least it's not a flat blank sky as is typical.

I love the heat too, lived here since 1974 except for my enlistments in the Marines and some traveling due to work. If your ever this way, look me up. I'm gonna be heading to the Grand Canyon again this month I think. And then try my hand at some places like White Pocket and 1 or 2 slot Canyons. 1 gets as narrow as like 3-6 foot I hear. Sky looks good, doesn't take away from the subject of the tree.

Definitely. I hope I will be taking another trip there later this year for a conference, and spending some time with relatives. My aunt and uncle live way down past Senoita near the border, in the Coronado National Monument. Some wonderful, lesser-known landscapes down that way.
