Well to give a bit of background on the shot, This is a popular scuba diving site with miles of interconnected caves under the springs. There were 4 divers a few minutes away from jumping in the water. The foreground and background elements were vertical through the entire scene so I didn't think tilt wasn't gonna help me. I didn't have a whole lot of time to pull out a hyperfocal distance chart, so I focused 2/3rds into the scene and looked under the dark cloth until it looked somewhat sharp and therefore f32'd it. I think the rear standard wasn't fully locked to vertical so it may have accidentally had a rear tilt which would explain why the foreground tree isn't so sharp on top and bottom. If I had 5 more minutes I would have been more careful, but ah well. If anyone has a better suggestion or critique, I'd be open to hearing it.

I've been very impressed with Sironar-S ED and the image looks a lot better on the light table. I'm sure there is some diffraction here, but I guess it was better to get a shot vs wait 20 minutes for the divers to submerge and lose the background fog(which did lift by the time I packed up). Perhaps the image belongs to the mistakes good or bad thread, but I thought it was passable so I posted it here.

Deval - next time you might try some front swing, to orient the plane of focus from the close tree out to the other bank (or enough that you can get it all relatively in focus). That said, nothing wrong with f/32 at all, in this situation. Personally I'm not a fan of those yellow highlights. Is that on the chrome? Or is that a scanning thing? I've seen similar things trying to recover as much highlight detail as possible with a chrome that has some blown-out whites.
