    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Two images from December and from within 4 miles of my home! I rarely photograph in the area I live - whether it's due to motivation/mindset (always other things to do, not "me time") or that the area lacks contours and being in the east of the UK has very settled (i.e boring) weather and light, not sure. Anyway, we had some lovely cold, frosty/misty mornings over the Christmas holidays and just got round to scanning these.

Graham, I love this mists and the tones of the first one. And well balanced composition with the grasses lower right, also adds to the depth and atmosphere.

Always a sucker for AK images, Chris. The little root with ice around it (in the water) makes ALL the difference...at least for me. Nice, indeed.

Thanks Les, I appreciate it. That branch wasn't keeping still for long! I think I got lucky catching it still for 2 sec.

Lovely image, Chris. What I don't like is the image doesn't fit my display - as I have to roll up and down continuously to see the entire frame...

    Cheers,

    Renato

    Renato,

The standard solution for that is to right-click on the image, then select "view image" from the list.

That should scale the image to the height of your screen.
It works with all modern operating systems that I know of.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Three from a weekend in Wales, UK, back in early February. Me and the wife went away for a last-minute weekend and work Saturday morning to snow. God it was gorgeous. Click for larger images.

    Snowden horseshoe from Llynau Mymbyr

This was a funny one. Decided to snooze in and hit the alarm clock only to get up and see the snow. By this lake in 10 minutes, ran to the location where I took this photo from only to realise I'd left all my film in the car. Quick run back and made it back just in time for the end of the sun's glow in the sky.

    Tryfan from Gallt Yr Ogof

I seem to have photographed this mountain many times these past 12 months, first from this view and first with snow.
