This photograph evokes a lot of nostalgia for me, from my youth tromping around the forest behind my parents' first house. In the late fall I would go very far into the woods, sloshing through the leaves piled high and no official trails anywhere. Good thing I was a natural at navigating the woods and remembered landmarks well. While fall colors often are shown as vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges, to me the late fall color of yellowish-brown evokes those feelings most of all, after the leaves have fallen and their dry shapes are highlighted in the late afternoon light.

Three sheets of Ektar from the weekend. Overcast drizzly day but I think it really brought out the colours of the trees and didn't hurt the waterfalls at all.
