    I mainly do portraits and decided to scout out Alabama Hills. First time here and found it really amazing.

    It is a great place! Nice variety of rock shots possible there!

    Alabama Hills, 4x10, 24" lens. No sky -- a subtle rending of the east face of the Sierras instead.

    That is really nice. I'm going to camp out. I wan to get some sunrise images and my wife wants to do astrophotography. Maybe at the end of the month

    The tub in the foreground is a fountain for the cattle/hikers, one of many along the trail.

    I suspect you've never seen any original LF work. Looking in magazines and on-line won't work. It is dramatic beyond the control from depth of field, perspective and other tools.
