Good work Andrew and very little to choose

I prefer the second, because of the lighting on the beach

    Thx for posting these

    regards

    Andrew

    Beautiful shots, Andrew!

I like the lighting on the beach on the second one, but prefer the bluffs and water in the first one. I'm a little bit surprised that the Fuji didn't show more separation in the green tones, they usually excel at that. All in all I think the first one is a hair better than the second.

Cheers, if I had to guess I'd say it was just the lighting changing, there was small banks of heavy cloud passing the sun every few minutes so it was hard to judge when to take the shot.

    Hello Bryan,

As always, I really like your woods scenes from the southern Appalachians. The slanting deadfall in this one adds a lot to the composition.

Thanks mmerig. I am particularly happy with this image. Took me awhile to find a good composition at this waterfall, but I found it and I nailed the exposure/development so a 16x20 print materialized easily last night in the darkroom.

One from earlier this year, March 2019. Taken at Alport Castles, Peak District National Park, UK. Its the result of a landslip thought to be the largest landslide in the UK. The light was lovely, the sky probably needed more cloud and I got have got my focus better.

Chamonix 045N-2, 135mm Rodenstock Sironar N f5.6@f32 and 1/3, 1s, Kodak Ektar 100, 1-stop soft ND grad filter reversed to tone down the foreground and 81A filter, Epson V700 scan, lightroom and capture nx2 processing.
