I had a few other shots from the Merced on Velvia that I totally overexposed (+2-3 stops) - expensive lesson ... see below.
Can't wait to see your shots on the 75mm. I have a Rodenstock 75mm, but haven't found a good use for it yet - 75mm is insanely wide.
I was out there from 10-21 thru 10-25! A pity we couldn't have gotten together, sheel. By the time I left, the big leaf maples in the valley and along the river were just gorgeous. I should've spent some more time down there instead of doing what I did but don't regret it. There's always next year.

Ah man, we were there at the exact same time - I arrived 10/22 and left 10/24 for Sequoia National Park! I did see someone with a 4x5 at Tunnel View on the evening of 10/22, around 5:30pm just before sunset, heading back to his car. The camera looked like it may have had a cambo reflex hood on it. The best colors/foliage I saw were the Maple's near the entry of the valley, at Valley View. Absolutely stunning along the Merced. I'm bummed I overexposed those Velvia shots.

Here's something I took today. My original plan was a bust - went to a trail I've been wanting to hike for weeks but didn't realize to get much down it you have to ford a raging river (due to recent rains) and I was unprepared for that in improper clothes and with it being a chilly, windy day - not something I wanted to be wet in all day.
But I hung out around the edge of the "creek" and shot a few things anyway. Here are some water puddles on the banks of Holly Creek:
