The National Memorial for Peace and Justice (colloquially known as the Lynching Memorial) - Montgomery, AL
Leica M6, MS-Optical 35mm f/3.5 Perar or Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 UW Heliar, Kodak XX, HC-110 dil. H
There is also a museum of some sort affiliated with this memorial, but I didn't get to go. I pass through Montgomery often so I will be making a return trip.

Powerful images, Bryan!
“You often feel tired, not because you've done too much, but because you've done too little of what sparks a light in you.”
― Alexander Den Heijer, Nothing You Don't Already Know
Thanks, Bob. Coming from you, this is indeed high praise.
Yes - the branch. I struggled with the idea of removing it (I didn't), mainly because I come to this set of trees as often as I can, and from year to year, this scene changes as the flotsam of the flood season is deposited, or taken away each year. This year, it saw fit to drop this stripped log horizontally into the roots of the Alders. I saw this as a question to which I had to supply an answer, and simply manipulating the scene seemed the wrong thing to do, so I opted to work with it. With the reflection in the water, it resembles an Asian glyph of some sort, like a brush stroke made of wood. For me, that redeems its awkward intrusiveness. For other viewers, they must decide for themselves.
