On a walk at dusk. Took my D600 and my rolleiflex; it'll be another week to see if the Rolleiflex got anything good. Some great stuff with the DSLR though (Sigma 50 lens)

I really had to clean this one up. Now I see how photoshop got so 'popular' as a joke because of the enhancements. The noise was terrible and caused a photoshopping effect on the skin. Which of course people love because then they are all smooth and shit. It was low light without a flash. I already had to crank the iso to 3200 on the 5D. I constantly had to open up wide just to get an appropriate exposure. Then I'd miss the dof....I think over half were easy toss aways because of lack of focus.

    Chaco at Night

I thought I'd look through the countless thousands of RAW files I have and start processing them.

First up is one I shot at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico a couple years ago. It was a nice moonless night and about as dark of skies as you can get in North America.

This was processed from a single image, not a composite.

    Nikon D600
    Samyang 14mm F2.8 lens
    F/4
    25 second exposure
    6400 ISO

For some reason, the Flickr photo look much more grainy and not a good representation of how it looks in Photoshop.

    Nice one CJ!

My GF Meagan started a new job today...we moved her up to the Atlanta suburbs over the holidays. I'll be moving somewhere soon...

Another shot from under an overpass. Just couldn't help myself. Wish I'd had my LF camera. This area is flooding from the Chattahoochee River due to the recent heavy rains.
