Went to the Renaissance Fair yesterday. Brought along my Nikon F5 and Sigma 300mm and blew through 3 rolls of Kodak XX during the jousts. Working on scans now, here's two:

We've started to go once a year. It's only about an hour and a half south from us.

Here's one more from the finale. They do 3 joust shows a day, with an overarching story that usually ends in duels and a few dramatic squibs. I saw the sword gleaming in my viewfinder and fired off a half-dozen frames:

120 Eastman 5222 XX by Nokton48, on Flickr

I am curious to know, if anyone here has tried yet, the 120 version of Eastman 5222 XX roll film? BTW B&H has the best deal on this I have found, at $11.99/roll.

That's a lot, but they had to invest in a master roll from Kodak to pull this off. So IMO it is worth supporting this. XX is my long fave 35mm emulsion, in medium format it should be delicious

Nice action shots, Bryan. Ha, a Star Wars light saber in the Renaissance era.

tuco - a few years ago we actually went on May 4th, no real thought to that, but at the end all the knights took out lightsabers and dueled, it was pretty funny!

One more, I think my favorite of when they put the helmets on:
