Good one, Randy!

Thanks, Randy! We had some good conditions for plant photography last Sunday.

Dang, I started getting this vertical density streak near the middle of the frame and more noticeable at slower shutter speeds. But my last roll more of them started showing up on the frame. It turns out it is the wheel that rotates the lens. It has a rubbery friction material on it. And the motor's shaft rotates the wheel by friction only (no gears). The friction material has become brittle. Cracks and small pieces have come off causing the motor's shaft to hit these indents/cracks slowing the rotation down momentarily. I'd think a modern version of this style of camera could be made with a stepper motor!
