Used to always prefer my XPan images with the film border but now I am not sure. Any thoughts? This is from the same roll as above.

I like the film border. Gives it a complete different feel.

Certainly different, but even more distracting than the more familiar minimal border seen in sheet film images.

    Thank you cjbecker and Jim.

I am with you Jim, I think it’s just too overpowering and takes your eyes away from the photo itself.

Pali, I like the borders . And the photos!

Today I had an office meeting on Teams but I decided to hang out on the back deck and watch the birds while on the meeting (it's mostly a social gathering). Snagged a couple pics of two male rose-breasted grosbeaks with my Nikon D800 and Sigma 300mm f/2.8. Here's one:

Try just leaving 1/2 to 1/3 of the sprocket holes in on top and bottom of the frame. I would like to see how that would affect the overall feel.

That's a nice capture of the bird Bryan! Peter, the bread looks fantistic!

Since there is no clear winner, I'll continue to mix things up and here are two more scans - one with the film border and one without
