    Experimenting with some vertical panoramas.

    Widelux F7, Kodak XX, HC-110

These falls are in half shadow most of the day except for a short time during midday. Might go back tomorrow during that time, and hopefully might have some clouds and try shooting with an O/R filter..

    David, that’s a terrific photo!

Really like the second version. A spot and framing that is definitely worth revisiting! Perhaps an overcast day to get more even lighting?

I agree with Xia. That second one has a lot of potential. Can you move back and a bit to the left...without falling off a cliff, of course.

Thanks Xia and Peter. Agree on the lighting, and planned to do that. Actually went back today but shot 4x5 instead, trying some other things.

As for moving back...no, unfortunately. The reason this waterfall is hard to shoot is that it is very tall and there is a viewing area on a wooden "bridge" across the front of the falls. So all images either have that in the photo (and trees/scrub), or, you are 50 feet from a 700+ foot waterfall! Very tricky situation that a swing-lens camera fixes nicely. Even a 12mm lens on 35mm or my 47XL on 4x5 can't really do the job. Anyway, will try again soon with better light and yes to the left probably (very busy and crowded when I was there as it was a weekend and Thanksgiving week holiday started).
